MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION:
If you or your teen are looking for a fun
activity for the summer and beyond, consider joining the Napa
County Sheriff Search and Rescue Explorer Team. Must be between
ages 14 to 20 and have interest in outdoor activities.
If you have questions or would like to join

NIMS Certification:
All Explorers should complete their required NIMS 700 and
800 online certifications. Please bring a copy of your certificate
so we can add it to our files. For more info, see:

TRAINING SIGN-OFFS:
Each Explorer is repsonsible for getting his/her training
records signed off. Please use the updated training record
<here>.
UNIFORMS:
Explorer hats & shirts have been issued. If you did not
receive one, please contact Chris at an upcoming meeting.
BACKGROUND CHECKS:
The Napa County Sheriff's Office requires background checks
for all Explorer SAR candidates. Those who do not pass will
be recommended to the Sheriff's Activities League. After successful
completion of that program, those individuals will be allowed
to join the Explorer SAR team.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
All SAR Explorer candidates must successfully complete their
probationary period by meeting the following requirements:
— Signoff of required ESAR training elements
— Pass Sheriff's Office background check
— Good attendance of all meetings and trainings
— Completion of a search and rescue day/fanny pack
— Field readiness test
— Have all paperwork completed and parent approvals in
place
