Our Donors and Sponsors

Napa County Search and Rescue is an all volunteer non-profit organization supported through grants and donations. The Napa County Sheriff's Department administers the team, and provides limited funding for team equipment and basic operations. The remaining funding for operating expenses such as training, travel, personal rescue gear, uniforms and additional support vehicles comes from the membership and the generousity of donors. Out-of-pocket expenses for individual members can total to hundreds of dollars per year.

Why do we do this? We share a strong desire to help others in distress and contribute to our community. We do not receive any compensation from the Sheriff's Department or are reimbursed for the time we take off from our regular jobs in order to respond to an emergency.

Napa SAR has an annual operating budget need of approximately $2800 which covers items like

• Insurance
• Office supplies
• Monthly meeting and training costs - food, site rental, photocopies
• Post office box
• Replacement of disposable equipment during searches such as batteries, first aid materials and fuel

We cannot survive without the generosity of our local businesses and sponsors. There are three ways to support the Napa Search and Rescue Unit.

Donations of Goods and Services

If you have any goods or services that can be provided to the team, we would be happy to talk to you. Things we constantly looking for include

• Repair services for our emergency response vehicle
• Free advertising and stories in local papers
• Coffee and food service for our monthly meetings and training activities
• Professional services to help with grant writing, donation solicitation, and public relations campaigns.

Donors will receive a written confirmation of their donation.

Our goals for 2007 include:

• Multi-channel, field programmable commercial VHF radios for every team member
• Spare uniforms and coveralls for every team member
• Additional climbing equipment for vertical rescue
• NASAR training materials

Team Sponsorship

Businesses who can provide a higher level of monetary assistance or annual commitment to the team are considered our sponsors. The team will recognize your contribution and promote your business on our website by providing links to your website. We will also promote your business at public recruiting functions such as local fairs and celebrations.
